Why our Vitamin C?

Vitamin C should be a key part of every serious skin care regimen.

emerginC uses three types of non-irritating, active, lipid and water-soluble vitamin C,

including STAY-C® 50—one of the most stable, bio-available forms of vitamin C available—which converts naturally to l-ascorbic acid when applied. Vitamin C is a key co-factor in the production of collagen, helps improve uneven tone and pigmentation issues, fights free radical and sun damage, helps combat acne-causing bacteria, and helps improve skin tone and texture while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Our vitamin C serums also contain a natural plant-based brightening complex and a ginseng oxygenating complex.

How does it work?

STAY-C® 50 reduces age spots by working on the tyrosinase enzyme (responsible for melanin formation) to inhibit excess melanin production. A 3-month clinical study on Asian skin has shown a reduction in melanin by 25% with regular use of cream containing Stay-C® 50.

STAY-C® 50 for younger-looking skin

Below are microscopy images taken from the spinous layer of the epidermis. Images show quenching of UV-induced ROS (reactive oxygen species) after test emulsion had been applied for 3 hours. Compared to the SPF 8- control formulation, the addition of 2.5% Vitamin E acetate leads to a 23% reduction of ROS level. The combination of 2.5% Stay –C 50 and 2.%% acetate reduces ROS to almost 50%.

STAY-C® 50 not only reduces damaging free radicals but also helps to increase skin firmness. Volunteers who used STAY-C® 50 emulsion experienced synthesis of collagen I and III in human fibroblasts.

STAY-C® 50 for helping reduce breakouts

Skin blemishes and acne are skin disorders not only experienced by teenagers but also by adults. The emergence of skin impurities and inflammation involve many factors, including bacterial growth of Proprionibacterium acnes and peroxidation of sebum.

The above data shows study of 5% Stay-C 50 or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide applied to active breakouts and blemishes. Volunteers, two groups of 30 people, applied twice daily for 12 weeks either Stay-C 50 or 5% Benzoyl Peroxide to facial skin.
